These are the areas I spend time in. Nothing on this page is for sale.

Programming

I write software for my own projects: PHP, Laravel, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. A lot of earlier site work used WordPress. I keep notes when an experiment is worth coming back to.

Computers

I have been working with computers for over twenty years. Most of that has been keeping machines useful: setting them up, fixing the thing that stopped working, and learning whatever the next box required.

Networking

Home networks, printers, cameras, and the path between a machine and everything else. I have also put together smart-home setups with Home Assistant, sensors, and self-hosted voice tools, for my own house.

Electronics

Sensors, controllers, and the hardware that has to agree with the software. I like the part of a project where a circuit and a program meet.

Second Life development

Second Life is a virtual identity, used for fun. Coding and DJing there are hobbies. I do not sell any of it for real-world money, and I make no actual money from it. This site is for Jason Hawks personally, not for business.

Servers

Linux hosts and Docker, at home and on machines in datacenters. I run this infrastructure for my own projects and to learn how the pieces behave when they stay up.
